Puri priests demand ban on entry of ISKCON monks

December 20, 2007

PURI: Firing another salvo against ISKCON monks, nearly hundred priests of Sri Jagannath Temple here sat on a dharna on Thursday demanding a ban on the entry of converted Hindus into the 12th century shrine.

In a memorandum to Sri Jagannath Temple Administration (SJTA), Sri Jagannath Sevayat Sammilanee (SJSS) said only “Hindus by birth” should be allowed into the temple, one of the four important dhams for Hindus in the country.

Earlier last week, the priests had criticised ISKCON for holding “untimely” Rath Yatra and display of the Lord’s picture on the website of an American online shopping outlet.

Samilanee Secretary, Harehrushna Mahasuar, said a number of foreigners under the cover of ISKCON were trying to enter the temple. “Though their passports showed they were Hindus, in reality they hailed from other religious groups,” he claimed.

Citing two recent incidents in which the priests drove out nine Indonesian nationals from the temple, Mahasuar said they were Hindus on paper. But they were converts. “We are sure that they had changed religion in order to get an entry into the Puri temple which is a dream for many,” he claimed.

The priests also expressed their anguish over the police act of facilitating the Indonesian nationals to enter the temple.

“We allowed them to enter the temple as their religion was Hindu according to their passports,” said Puri Superintendent of Police Asit Panigrahi.

80,000 women die during abortions every year in India

December 20, 2007

BANGALORE: Around 11 million abortions are carried out in India every year and nearly 80,000 women die during the process, according to an expert.

A majority of abortions are performed by untrained hands and studies suggest that nearly 80,000 women die due to unsafe abortions, Dr Hema Divakar, Chairperson, Federation of Obsterics and Gynecological Societies of India (FOGSI), Perinatology Committee RPT Perinatology Committee.

Stressing the need to promote awareness about emergency contraception methods, she said research shows that 78 per cent of pregnancies in India were unplanned, of which 25 per cent are unwanted, leading to approximately 11 million abortions.

“The level of emergency contraception is abysmally low in India,” she told reporters on Wednesday and added that only one out of 100 women were aware of it.

Recent advertisements had fuelled some awareness, but the sale of these contraceptives was yet to pick up, she said.

An Emergency Contraceptive (EC) can prevent pregnancy by over 80 per cent if taken within 72 hours of an intercourse.

However, these pills are to be taken only in an emergency and not as a regular form of contraception, she added.

Clearing misconceptions associated with EC, she it was not an abortion pill and cannot abort a foetus once pregnancy is established.

EC acts as an interceptive agent that prevents ovulation, fertilization or implantation depending on the phase of menstrual cycle, Divakar added.

Proper and timely use of EC pills can bring down the spiralling unsafe abortions, she said.

Cops to enlist ex-bad guys to nab criminals

December 19, 2007

Lucknow, India – Indian police are betting there is no honour among thieves.

Police said on Tuesday they are co-opting former criminals to give up trade secrets to help stem a massive crime wave that has hit the city of Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh, a notoriously lawless state in northern India.

“Who knows the mind-set of criminals better than the one who, himself, had ruled the dark alleys of crime?” Kanpur police chief Anand Swaroop said.

Swaroop said the plan entailed identifying once habitual criminals who are no longer active and asking them for their insights into today’s delinquents.

Twelve convicts have so far agreed to take part, and they will initially receive a monthly retainer of 1 000 rupees (about R150) that could increase depending on how useful they are, he said.At least 32 murders and thefts worth 250 million rupees or more have taken place in the last three months in Kanpur, an industrial city some 80 kilometres southeast of the state capital, Lucknow, according to police statistics.

State police chief Shiv Narain Singh praised the initiative, saying if it went well it could help former criminals reintegrate into society.

“This perhaps is the best way for them to repent for the crimes they have committed in their youth,” he said.

Delhi lover sells woman for Rs 40K

NEW DELHI: In a shocking incident, the ‘lover’ of a 21-year-old woman sold her to a couple from Haryana for Rs 40,000. The victim, who was rescued by the Delhi Police crime branch from Jind on Monday, was raped repeatedly by three men before being forced into prostitution.

The woman, who is from Jharkhand, had come to Delhi a few weeks ago to meet her pregnant sister. She was staying in the house of her brother-in-law at Shahdara in east Delhi.

The two men who have been arrested for abducting and selling her were identified as Jai Shankar, who lives in Adarsh Nagar in north Delhi, and Pervez, from Sultanpuri in west Delhi. Both are unemployed. According to the police, Shankar met the woman in Shahdara and they “fell in love”. On December 12, Shankar took her to Pervez’s house saying he wanted to marry her in a temple.

The woman told the police that at Pervez’s house, they were approached by a man named Jagbir and his wife Rajbala. These two have also been arrested. “The couple has admitted they paid Rs 40,000 to Jai Shankar and Pervez for the woman. Jagbir and Rajbala are pimps who forced women into prostitution. The two forcibly took her to Jind and kept her illegally confined there,” said a senior police officer.

Fresh probe into India politician

December 18, 2007

A court in the Indian capital Delhi has ordered a fresh investigation into the alleged role of a former central minister in anti-Sikh riots of 1984.

The court directed the Central Bureau of Investigation to probe the alleged role of Jagdish Tytler, a month after a case against him was closed.

However, a witness said recently he saw Mr Tytler lead a mob against Sikhs.

The riots, sparked by the assassination of PM Indira Gandhi by Sikh bodyguards, left more than 3,000 Sikhs dead.

Mr Tytler is a MP with the ruling Congress party, and has consistently denied any role in the rioting.

‘No evidence’

In November, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), India’s top central detective agency, closed a case against Mr Tytler saying there was “no evidence” or “witness” to establish that he had a role in the rioting.

However, Jasbir Singh, who lives in California, recently claimed that he saw Mr Tytler lead a mob on a Sikh temple in Delhi during the riots.

Three Sikhs were burnt to death in the attack on the temple.

Mr Singh, who lost 26 family members in the rioting, left the country after the incident.

Now the court has asked the CBI to carry out a fresh investigation into Mr Tytler’s alleged role and submit a report by 16 January.

Mr Tytler was earlier implicated by a judicial commission set up to investigate the 1984 killings.

The report, by retired Supreme Court judge GT Nanavati, was the ninth inquiry commission into the riots, and was set up in 2000 by the then governing Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) which is now in opposition.

The inquiry found “credible evidence” against Mr Tytler and recommended further investigation into his role.

Mr Tytler submitted his resignation as a minister for expatriate Indians after being implicated in the riots.

He said he had resigned to his “name cleared”.

Major prostitution racket busted in Nepal’s border town

December 17, 2007

KATHMANDU: The authorities in Nepal have busted a major prostitution racket in Rupandehi district’s Butwal town, close to the Indian border.

The Nepal Police arrested at least 22 people, including girls, from different hotels of Butwal Municipality in Rupandehi district, close to the Indian border state of Uttar Pradesh.

They were arrested by the authorities in raid at the three hotels and a restaurant in Butwal after receiving a tip-off, according to the police.

The arrested youths would face a case of public offence, the police said.

Prostitution is considered illegal in Nepal and the Himalayan nation does not have a red light area.

The police said they have intensified raids in the district to control the illegal activity.

Concerned over the deteriorating law and order situation in the country’s Terai plains bordering India, the government has unveiled new security measures for Southern Nepal.

The porous Indo-Nepal border has often facilitated criminal activities, including prostitution and smuggling.

In recent months, the security forces of the two countries have increased vigil to check crimes, including abduction, extortion and other forms of illegal activities in the Terai region.

Brother killed India ex-minister

December 17, 2007

The brother of a senior leader of India’s main opposition Bharatiya Janata Party has been found guilty of killing him last year.

A court in the western city of Mumbai said Praveen Mahajan had shot and killed his brother Pramod Mahajan, a former federal minister.

Mr Mahajan is likely to be sentenced on Tuesday, reports say.

Pramod Mahajan died 12 days after being shot at his home in Mumbai in April last year.

Reports say his brother fired three shots at him from a licensed revolver from close range because of a family dispute.

Technocrat

After initially confessing to murdering his brother, Mr Mahajan later denied it in the courts.

Pramod Mahajan, 56, was one of the most recognised political figures in India.

Although he lacked a political base, he was an influential figure in the BJP where he was part of the party’s Generation Next – a group of savvy and relatively younger “technocrat” leaders.

A former telecommunications minister, he is credited with bringing about a revolution in the industry.

Judge SP Davre told a crowded courtroom that eye witness accounts from the dead man’s wife – who heard her husband ask “what did I do, that I was killed by my brother?” – as he was rushed to hospital could be accepted as evidence.

Correspondents say that Praveen Mahajan is likely to receive a life sentence or the death penalty on Tuesday – even though such sentences are rarely carried out in India.

The prosecution said that after murdering Pramod, Praveen then went to the nearest police station and allegedly confessed to his crime. He has been in custody since then.

Brij Bhushan Bansal earned $8 million from banned drugs in USA

December 17, 2007

Agra doctor’s global drug racket case hanging fire

16 Dec 2007, Brij Khandelwal

Agra, Dec 16 – Neighbours of Brij Bhushan Bansal here had no inkling of what was going on in the doctor’s clinic till his arrest in 2005 for running a global illegal Internet pharmacy network along with his Philadelphia-based son. A US court has now sentenced the son to 30 years in prison, while the case against the Agra doctor is still hanging fire.

Akhil Bansal, the son of Brij Bhushan Bansal, created and operated a network that smuggled 11 million prescription pills from India and distributed them to 60,000 Americans. ‘You distributed poison throughout the country,’ the US judge pronouncing the sentence said Friday.

All that Brij Bhushan’s neighbours in upscale Kamla Nagar locality remember is that till his sudden arrest by the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), post and telegraph and courier company vehicles would arrive every evening to pick up parcels from his palatial house.

Twenty arrests were made in countries as far as Costa Rica and Canada. Investigations revealed trading worth $20 million through Internet websites and other contacts.

An estimated 100,000 Americans were victims of the drug racket that Brij Bhushan ran with effective support of his son in the US and a dozen other relatives and friends.

Brij Bhushan, an ordinary MBBS doctor with his clinic on Moti Lal Nehru Road of Agra, became a multi-millionaire within two years with a huge mansion in Kamla Nagar. A source said within two years Brij Bhushan, the kingpin of the racket, earned close to $8 million through Internet sale of so-called sedatives and mild anti-depressants, a cover for banned drugs.

Akhil Bansal was studying for his MBA degree at Templeton University, US, while helping his father run the racket. He had purchased an expensive flat in Philadelphia, four cars and his offshore bank balance was around $6 million at the time of arrest. Others arrested were Akhil’s fiance, Brij Bhushan’s daughter, son-in-law and father-in-law in Jaipur, all of whom are in jail.

The Agra-centric drug racket couriered prescription drugs, like amphetamines, narcotics and steroids, to people just anywhere – age, nation no bar.

An Indo-US Operation Cyber Chase eventually tracked down the Bansals after a yearlong hunt.

On April 18, 2005, officials from the US Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) descended on Akhil’s Henry Avenue apartment in Philadelphia, just as he was planning his escape to Canada. Simultaneously, officials of the NCB closed in on Brij Bhushan’s residence in Agra.

Brij Bhushan, interestingly, had served as a surgeon in an army hospital in Delhi.

His modus operandi was simple. Drugs banned in the US and other western countries were marketed under different names and couriered to their destinations, for which his agents collected hefty considerations.

Malaysia’s Super Hindu leaders landed in Jail

December 14, 2007

I am sick of those village idiots call themselves as “Proud Indians” and “Proud Hindus”.

Garve se kaho hum Hindu Hay [Proudly Say that I am a Hindu] that was a slogan initiated by Hindu militants in India to attract socially excluded Hindu castes and Dalits to their Brahmin superiority fold.

Brahmin promise is simple. “In public space, we will call you as a Hindu, Don’t ask me more”.

To those socially excluded poor Hindus, that is an attractive offer. HINDU ON DEMAND !

Marginalized Dalits constitutes 10 % population of Jammu and Kashmir state. Because of the vast media coverage of Kashmiri Brahmins we consider it as a Pundit land . Jammu’s Dalits, who are still under the slavery of brahmins, want to be known as super-Hindus in order that the ‘upper’ castes accept them’, says a Dalit activist from J &K. [Yoginder Sikand, 2004]

According to Mukul Sinha, ‘Super Hindu‘ is a newly created identity by hindutva zealots to brainwash Patels. This lower caste (shudra) community played a major role in Gujarat riots against Muslims. [Yoginder Sikand, 2007]

Super Nannies, Super Hindus

The richest 2 percent own more than half of global household wealth. To many, good health and a happy family life are far more important than material riches. But, few days back, Malaysia’s Hindu Rights Action Force (Hindraf) demanded the British government pay some $4 trillion in damages to “150 years of exploitation of ethnic Indians”. That was a wonderful idea to become rich over night! Money can bring problems as well as solutions. But Hindraf leaders finally landed in Jail under National Security Act called ISA.

I disagree on imposing such a draconian law against these Super Hindu lawyers. The government should have left them free. Once their followers know that they cannot get millions from the British queen, they should have killed Hindraf leaders on the street. One more video footage for Malaysiakini or YouTube, titled as The last supper, That is it!

But truly, HINDRAF leaders want to be Malaysia’s ‘Super Hindu billionaires’ and they want their followers to be ‘Super Hindu Millionaires’.

Plenty of Indian village idiots are fascinated by the propaganda launched by RSS on Super Hindu Billionaires.

Look! 10,000 village idiots joined rally organized by Malaysia’ s future billionaires.

I have n’t seen any list of Super Jews, Super Christians, Super Sikhs, Super Buddhists or Super Muslims.

Now, RSS want to make Malaysia’s Tamil Hindus as Super Hindus, because most of them are dalits or lower caste Hindus. Read the following words from the website of Malaysia Hindu Sangam, the local collaborator of RSS in Malaysia.

This is the tribute to the Great Hindus of All time.

An inspiration to all Hindus around the world that We The Hindus, are simply the BEST and no doubt…We Are The Number 1.

Read more the great stories of millions of great Hindus from all corners of the world. However, this list is never been complete, we welcome more and more names and personalities to publish here, please submit to webmaster@hindusangam.org.my

Above L-R : M ahathma Ghandi (Great Ruler and Freedom fighter), Sabeer Bhatia (Founder of Hotmail), Kalpana Chawla (Hindu Astronut), Lakshmi Mittal (World’s 5th Richest Man, Forbes 2007), Mukesh Ambani (World’s 14th Richest Man, Forbes 2007), Aishwarya Rai (Miss World 1994)

http://www.hindusangam.org.my/library/superhindus/

Now, I am wondering who are Super Hindus?

Mahathma Gandhi aka “Father of Nation” was killed by another super Hindu, called Nadhuram Godse. The offense was simple. He was willing to talk to Muslim minorities in India. And the X Generation super Hindus are still proud of Godse. Read this NewYork Times Article

But some of them need half of Gandhi’s picture to earn more acceptability among ordinary Hindus. The rest of the Super Hindus in that image gallery doesn’t endorse Hindutva Fascism like RSS idiots. Some of them don’t even hold Indian passports.

Mukesh Ambani don’t even talk to his brother Anil Ambani!. Don’t ask me why! Ask a Hindu Brahmin Guruji about Dharma and he will explain you why you shouldn’t talk to your brother, if you are rich. Definitely he will quote, ArthaShasthra wrote by another crooked Brahmin, Chanakya. To me, Ambanis are as good as Butch Cassidy.

The fact is that capitalism is most unfair system where the majority of the Indians has to suffer so that the bullys like Ambani brothers have their whole cake at expense of everyone else!

Indonesia now has 11 Forbes billionaires, but 235 million of its people still survives on less than US$ a day. Majority of those Indonesian billionaires are not Muslims, but Indonesian Muslims didn’t asked the world to impose trade sanctions against their nation. If the number of billionaires can be counted as a criteria for development, Indonesia is much ahead of India. (They have only quarter of India’s population)

Yadha Raja Thadha Praja!

In India, wealth of 36 families amounts to $ 191 billion, which is one-fourth of India’s GDP while half of the world’s poor lives in this proud nation! In other words, 35 Super Hindu families own quarter of India’s GDP by leaving 85 % ordinary Hindus as poor! (Wipro’s Azim Premji is a Muslim by census)

India’s foreign exchange reserves are only $273.5 billion while for China it is $1455.

Abu Dhabi’s sovereign fund is world’s largest and worth $1,300bn. $1.5 trillion of funds sloshing around the Middle East, but those wealth hasn’t eradicated poverty from Muslim world. The Saudis alone hold about a trillion dollars in United States assets. They buy more U.S. made weapons than Israel even though Israelis influence the world politics. Empowerment of a community is not related to the headcount of its billionaires. Please don’t talk such nonsense to me.

Ever wondered why these village idiots call Indian Culture as best No.1, world’s best, globe’s super etc?

Then never forget to read this blog :

E=mc^2 Great Indian Culture

Thieves cut off Hindu sadhu’s ‘holy leg’

December 14, 2007

By Omer Farooq
BBC News, Hyderabad

Police in southern India are hunting for two men who attacked a Hindu holy man, cut off his right leg and then made off with it.

The 80-year-old holy man, Yanadi Kondaiah, claimed to have healing powers in the leg.

He is now recovering from his ordeal in hospital in the city of Tirupati in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

Local people believed they could be healed of spiritual and physical problems if they touched his leg.

They also believed in Mr Kondaiah’s predictions of the future.

Police say the incident happened 550 km north of the state capital, Hyderabad.

‘Brutal manner’

Police say that the self-styled ‘Godman’ – who lives in a village near the city of Tirupati – was approached a few days ago by two strangers who came to seek his advice over a medical problem.

They say that the pair returned to the old man on Tuesday ostensibly to thank him for his help.

“As the old man had the weakness of drinking, he accepted their invitation to have drinks with them,” said local police Sub-Inspector Pendakanti Dastgiri.

“They took him to a deserted spot in the outskirts of the village.

“After the old man had passed out under the influence of liquor, they cut off his right leg from the knee,” he said.

Mr Dastgiri said that the amputation was carried out in a very “brutal manner” and that police are still looking for the leg and the men who so cruelly took it.

He said that the assailants used a sharp hunting knife, and left the old man alone and bleeding slowly to death.

Local people who found him unconscious alerted the police, who rushed him to hospital in Tirupati.

After regaining consciousness Mr Kondaiah said that he had no idea why he was targeted in such a manner, and did not understand the motive of the miscreants in taking away his leg.

“I have always been good to others and helped who ever came to me. Then why has this been done to me?” he asked amid his tears.

Police say the reason for the attack could be because Mr Kondaiah told too many people of the alleged magical powers of his right leg.

“This might have motivated some people to take away his leg hoping to benefit from it,” a police spokesman said.

“But it is difficult to say that this was the only motive. It could also be a case of a revenge attack.”
